COOL GATES FACT:

The Houses of the Stele and the Vigil are some of the most influential Great Houses of the Empire. The Vigil is known to produce effective diplomats, while the Stele is home to meticulous scholars tasked with recording the minutiae of Imperial history.
It’s not uncommon to find a cadre of scholars from the Stele living in the other Sacred Cities, painstakingly recording everything they can; you never know when something might become a valuable part of history. The only exception to this rule is the Sepulchrum of the Penitent House, which Stele House scholars may never set foot in (Though some desperately wish they could).
The Seer-Diplomats of the Vigil, meanwhile, are a rare sight within the heart of the Empire; the God Saints have deemed their services best utilized in the colonies on the dimming edge of the Emperor’s Light.
