Page 50
Happy 50 pages! You can consider this my celebration image, as this whole page is a callback to page 13 which I drew just over a year ago. At the time I was incredibly proud of that reveal panel, but the fascinating thing about art is that it’s like a never-ending journey of improvement. As many tears and insecurities as there are, there’s also a lot of pride in doing something that you love and getting better at it.
As of writing this, I have been working on Nine Gates (pages) since at least September 2020, though I only started actively releasing and working on it weekly in late October 2021. I feel like I thank my readers a lot, but it’s because I earnestly do appreciate your patience and interest as I work my way through the story. In one short year I have become more of a whole person, and I like to think that it’s at least in part due to Nine Gates. Even if it doesn’t end up being as successful as I’d like it to be, I’ve gotten a lot out of it personally!
Be seeing you for many more weeks

Someone who targets ‘weaklings’ is a coward, someone who flees a bully is not
His design looks updated, the horns aren’t quite the same. I like the new him. I like him.
It’s always nice to put fresh eyes on an old design and figure out what you like and what you don’t.
Ya; late to comment, but I recognized “Big Blue” immediately on the last page from his previous appearance, tipped off by Jeane’s look of abject terror. Also yes; she’s already been given that sword, although not in a way one usually likes to receive one. . . 🙂 I’m awaiting that reveal with great anticipation. I’m not sure about other clues, but one of the fun things in reading this story has been to go slow and take in all the tiny details and the Easter Eggs. I still have no idea what’s actually going on though; I’m counting on it getting cleared up as we go along- it’s supposed to be weird right now, and frankly that’s its charm.
I also have a mad crush on Vasha, even though she’s terrifying. :-)) Probably definitely for the best that she’s only a comic character, and I never have to meet her in real life . .. .
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I was hoping people would remember Blue.
Vasha’s the kind of girl who would be your spotter in the gym and then later that night you’d go to a bar together and get totally blasted– But she’s also got a temper, so she’s definitely scary.
Wow, I had forgotten about this guy. How the heck did he get through the door? How has he not put holes in the ceiling? Why does he think Jeane is a born killer with wide-eyed terror clearly on her face? Methinks he has some explaining to do, even though I’m guessing the picture of the woman with the 2hander and cloak on the left side of the site is Jeane’s future self in this…world.
Happy Friday!
The way he gets through the door is as funny as you’re probably thinking it is.
Also, though it’s not perfect, clues to these mysteries are spread throughout the comic.
