I think I’m in the same boat as Jeane here, everything is new, weird and pretty amazing, so it would be hard to take it all in and not be goggle-eyed most of the time. Also, when all the food is unfamiliar and potentially dangerous, can you really trust your senses? She has to hope that Vasha is also human and that whatever she eats is safe, which appears to be the case from the food during the voyage, though I don’t recall us seeing Jeane’s response to it.
Looks like Vasha (or maybe Jeane this time?) is going to have to save the day against what appear to be local gang members.
