Soma Journal #5
Happy Friday everyone. Two weeks ago I entirely forgot about writing the journal because I was so busy, but I did warn you that the upload of these might be inconsistent.
A few weeks ago I started HRT, my appointment was during the week and it took something like 6 hours because of where I went to get my prescription. That, and admittedly being a bit tired from working as well as doing Nine Gates, is why uploads have been a bit rocky lately. Funnily enough, I thought I was behind again this week, but in actuality I’m kinda ahead for once.
Once Page 40 is released, there wont be more pages for another 4 weeks. This gives me plenty of time to recuperate as well as put together a bit of a backlog– and if this ends up working out I’ll probably do this after each chapter is finished.
COOL GATE FACTS:
The colossal corpse that Jeane collapsed in towards the end of Chapter 1 contains a thriving ecosystem of plants and animals, similar to real life whale falls but on a much larger scale. People from nearby settlements in the Ash Dunes also use it as hunting grounds, or to scavenge its armor for materials.

Ahh, well that’s good to know! Hormones certainly impact all of us in numerous ways, more than I can remember at any given time.
Happy Friday to you too, Soma! I wasn’t sure what HRT stood for until I looked it up, then it sounded vaguely familiar. Sorry you have to go through that, I read up on it and it sounds like a process that can really mess with your schedule, as well as the obvious things. Hopefully it helps.
Thanks for the reminder about the giant skeleton, I’d forgotten about that particular scene, believe it or not. Doing archive binges is both a bonus, because you get more story at a time, but also a bit of a handicap since everything blurs together, at least for those of us without perfect memories. The cool fact is interesting regarding the ecosystem, but it does make me wonder, how long can it last in a desert? Eventually all of the moisture would evaporate/desiccate, so you’d think that’d be the end of the plants, which would end the animals as well. The salvaging though, that looks like something that could last for decades or longer.
It’s not so much something I HAVE to do as it is something to affirm my gender.
And a lot of things in the ash dunes have evolved to partially subsist on things other than water.
Oh, my apologies, the article I read on the Mayo Clinic website really only covered HRT as a treatment for menopausal women. I did not intend to offer any offense.
That’s okay lol. It has a lot of different applications, like for people with hormone imbalances and stuff like that.
